The intention of this book is to offer the reader understandings, ideas and solutions from the perspective of a workbench technician and electronics hobbyist. It is a descriptive text with many tables of useful data, servicing tips and supplementary notes of not so common knowledge. Today there is a re-emerging, nostalgic interest in vinyl records and associated music entertainment gear. With this interest, there is a paralleled market for the repair of this gear. This ‘hands-on’ servicing guide opens with fundamental considerations of the work space of repair and servicing. This includes a comprehensive discussion of essential test equipment and tools. Two chapters are devoted to obtaining servicing information about repair and obtaining spare parts. A key chapter is on general diagnosis and testing and includes the discussion of resistance, capacitance and inductance. These electrical properties are regularly in the mind of the repairer, so understanding of them is a key objective of this book. The next chapter is about time saving repair techniques and ensuring quality repair. The remaining chapters discuss entertainment equipment itself. Each of the chapters begins with an orderly discussion of the theory of operation and common and not so common problems specific to the equipment. All chapters conclude with a summary.

Steeds vaker komen we op smartphones en tablet-computers het besturingssysteem Android tegen. En de steeds betere technische uitvoering en uitrusting van de apparaten maken het nu mogelijk toepassingen te 'draaien' waarvoor een paar jaar geleden nog een desktop-PC of speciale hardware vereist was. Inmiddels kan elke smartphone de exacte (geografische) positie bepalen, video's opnemen – en nog veel meer. Maar bij het individualiseren van onze smartphone hoeven we ons niet te beperken tot kant-en-klare applicaties! Het is namelijk helemaal niet zo moeilijk om zelf Android-apparaten te programmeren en eigen apps te schrijven. Dit boek vormt een inleiding tot het programmeren van apps voor Android-apparaten. De werking van het Android-systeem wordt op begrijpelijke manier uitgelegd en we zien stap voor stap hoe applicaties kunnen worden geprogrammeerd. Aan de hand van een groot aantal voorbeelden worden allerlei toepassingsmogelijkheden getoond. Het scala loopt van eenvoudige rekenprogramma's via het uitlezen van sensoren en GPS-data tot het programmeren van applicaties voor internetcommunicatie. Naast het schrijven van applicaties in de programmeertaal Java wordt in dit boek ook besproken hoe apps met behulp van Javascript of PHP-scripts kunnen worden geprogrammeerd.

Le kit de test Super Servo Elektor permet le contrôle des servomoteurs et la mesure de leurs signaux. Il permet le test simultané de quatre servomoteurs. Le testeur est fourni en kit. Tous les composants nécessaires à l'assemblage du dispositif sont fournis dans le kit. Une expérience basique de soudure électronique est nécessaire pour réaliser l'assemblage du kit. Le microcontrôleur est préprogrammé. Les signaux sont également dirigés vers ses sorties afin de contrôler les servomoteurs, l'ESC ou le contrôleur de vol. Les résultats sont visualisés sur l'écran.
